Well, now they have five.
Tebow was informed Monday morning when he arrived at the team’s facility he’ll be waived, and the team put out a statement:
“We have a great deal of respect for Tim Tebow,” said Jets head coach Rex Ryan. “Unfortunately, things did not work out the way we all had hoped. Tim is an extremely hard worker, evident by the shape he came back in this offseason (losing weight). We wish him the best moving forward.”
Tebow will now have to pass through waivers. Teams will have until 4 p.m. ET Tuesday to put in claims for him.
Don’t expect the Jacksonville Jaguars to put in a claim.

Professional sports often puts a premium on size–football loves 300 lbs. players, while basketball is fascinated with height!
Former Wake Forest star Tyrone “Muggsy” Bogues broke all those rules–he was the smallest man ever to play in the NBA.
DENVER, Colo. (CBS Sports) — People are going crazy over the shooting display that Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry has been putting on during his series against the Denver Nuggets.
And why wouldn’t you? He has been hitting 3-point shots, pull-up jumpers and floaters from all angles and distances as Golden State has grabbed a 3-1 series lead. It’s not just that he’s scoring and leading his team’s offense; it’s that it appears all of his points are coming in big runs that demoralize the defense and put his team over the top.
So, why does Curry shoot so well against the Nuggets? Wager to say it’s because they’re so bad at defending him.

Professional basketball player Jason Collins (no relation to Joan other than, now, he also has a huge gay following) announced this week that he is gay.
I think Jason Collins is incredible. I think Jason Collins is amazing. I think Jason Collins is taking a huge step toward moving away from a hetero-normative world that tells little boys and girls only certain things in life are possible for them if they think and act a certain way.
I also think Jason Collins stole my thunder. After nearly 20 years of practicing being openly gay, I was about to try out for the NBA and WHAM! He steals my idea. If this was a movie I wouldn’t have a starring role. I’d be Tall Guy in Crowd in the credits. I wouldn’t even make it to IMDB. Thanks, Jason Collins, for ruining my dream.
(CNN) — David Grosso, 42, was born and raised in the metropolitan Washington area so it’s not tough to see why he’s a diehard Washington Redskins fan. Been going to games since he was a boy. Season ticket holder.
But Grosso, like so many others, objects to the name and mascot of his favorite team.
“The term Redskins is a racist and derogatory term,” he says.
These days, Grosso has the power to do something more than air his opinion. He was elected to Washington’s City Council in November, and he plans to introduce a resolution Wednesday to rename the team to the Washington Redtails. That’s a tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen, though, Grosso says, there are plenty of redtail hawks in the area.
He’s open to other suggestions. He just wants the current name gone.
“District residents and their elected representatives should not tolerate commercial or other use of…
